Compositing- Tests

Managing time is also important, I have been creating time to do tests and send back for feedback and changes. It was difficult later on as much more work came in and had to put extra time to test out before compositing and putting final effects in. I had to come in everyday to work alongside the L6 student as my Director.

I had asked her to send me the unfinished scenes she was working on to do some tests and see if I can do any better, or if needed to change or even learn a better way to create an effect.
Most of the effects I had used were from what I had learnt from the previous advertising project, so it was mainly perfecting the technique and learn more other ways if that didn’t work

Compositing- Tutorials

hen working on final editing we came across some problems with transitions didn’t work well as we had on the animatic and storyboard. I had to learn new technique from YouTube tutorials. I found one channel about how to create custom transitions which helped in some of the scenes and some my Director wasn’t fond of we didn’t use.

Compositing- Research Target Audience

The Target Audience for the L6 student was Adult and Teenagers. It is a deeper meaning story about our inner self and how we take advantage of things we get or have everyday. The main character goes through the same routine daily and finally when one thing change everything seems wrong and having a hard time adjusting and accepting the changes.

We researched a lot of references and inspirations for the look and feel of the short film, and also researched into our target audience and making sure it is styled and designed for them.I had seen a lot of films with the same colour tone and visually similar to hers and had shown her.

Compositing- Research Environment

Most of the references I found were from a horror film I had seen and an animated short for a video game. I researched a lot about camera shots and some effects in the shots like snowy, foggy, sunset, dusk etc.

Specialist Study- Compositing

The specialist study I am thinking of doing is Post Production, Editing and Special Effects with animation or film. I think learning After Effects got me realize how much I enjoy editing and compositing, when I did the business for advertising project with the illustrators I loved the process of editing and compositing and making effects, colour corrections and make the video look better than original. We had live action opening and ending in our advertisement project and I helped out with filming along with a group mate who was a photography student. I got more into after effects and wanted to learn more of the software and how I can use it in my work.

For Professional Practice (Employability), will have to learn a lot of skills in order to get the client or company exactly what they want to achieve in their work, which means not only my skills are needed to be great, but learn how to be on schedule and problem solving.
What my clients will be looking for when I work for them is the final outcome, and my job is to make sure I achieve it, and if I cant then I will have to find a way to find out. Learning the program is a huge issue, every company uses different program to another, which means I have to be quick to manage my time in learning the program and also use it in my work and meet the deadline set.

infographics- Background and Textures

So I looked at a lot of backgrounds and textures for my animation. I wanted to find something that will not distract the audience and miss out on the key points and visuals. I did not end up using these as I wanted to do something basic in the end rather than using a background I found online.

I ended up using a solid to create my background and that way I find it easier to manage the background and change or add some effects if needed.
